What’s Happening?
Schools across the city are organizing a peaceful protest from 8-8:30am on the sidewalk in front of our schools to raise awareness about the school boards’ appeal.
Please join us!
Who can participate?
Anyone can organize a protest, whether they are a parent or a member of the community. Invite friends, neighbours, parents and kids to show up at 8am with homemade signs and bang some pots and pans.
Is it allowed?
As long as the protests are on the sidewalk (not on school property) and do not block the school entrance, they are allowed.
Make signs
Use paints or markers to make signs on cardboard or posterboard. Use a roll of kraft paper to make a banner. Use slogans like “Hands off our schools!” or “No Development on School Lands!”
Make Noise
Bring pots and pans & whistles and make some noise!
Stay on the Sidewalk
Stay on the sidewalk and don’t block entrances.
Spread the word
Let people know in group chats, community Facebook pages, resident associations, or go to the school yard and talk to parents.
